At the beginning of July, a group of MBA students from the University of Hawaii visited the production sites of PPM and Confirel and discussed with the Group’s leaders, including its founder and CEO, Dr. Hay Ly Eang.
“These visits were a great learning experience for my MBA students, seeing firsthand how high quality and affordable pharmaceuticals are made. I believe that Confirel’s focus on unique local agricultural products such as Kampot pepper and organic palm sugar is the perfect strategy to sustainably develop Cambodia’s agricultural sector. PPM and Confirel are clearly world-class companies with a bright future”, commented at the end of this meeting Benjamin Byström, professor of finance and director of field studies in Asia, who supervised this group.
Sakett Seila, assistant to Dr. Hay Ly Eang, said he was particularly impressed by the enthusiasm and interest of the students. “We hope that the visit gave your students a better understanding of the pharmaceutical and F&B sector and the role that PPM, Confirel and the Kinal Foundation play in the Cambodian economy. We also hope that they have taken away valuable information that they can use in their future careers”, he wrote to Benjamin Byström, following this visit.
